Monday's tip of the week: Use ribbon as a belt!

Looking for an inexpensive way to add a cute detail to your outfit? Why don't you try wearing ribbon as a belt! Ribbon is THE cheapest belt out there :). All you have to do is tie it around your waist or hip and make a little cute bow... Voila! Instant cuteness!

You can either leave the ends long so they drape down, or you can keep them short so that the focus is on the bow. My one recommendation would be to cut the ends in a way in which the ribbon doesn't come apart. My favorite way to cut it is like this:

How to cut ribbon ends

1. You start with some ribbon
2. Then you fold it in half width ways
3. Cut it diagonally from the tip or corner to the inside of the ribbon
4. This is what it should look like
5. And you finish with the cutest ends ever!

Here is a couple of outfits in which I have used this tip:

Blue & purple - Sept 16 (10)P1030104-2

Labor Day - Sept 7 (1)Fall Florals - Sept 22 (1)

And you know what the best part is? Ribbon comes in millions of colors an even patterns! So go ahead and give it a try, I guarantee that your cute level will go up a notch!
