I really love this photo of our new kitty Billy because it captures a lot of her personality. She is incredibly feisty and playful, and you can see that pretty clearly in this photo!

Today I learned a really cool photo effect in my photography class! We practiced taking photos in dark situations and we also played with light effects:

Ok, ok, my heart didn't turn out perfect; but the effect is awesome isn't it?!! I can't wait to practice more and master taking these type of pictures. I bet it would work even better with sparklers!

After 2+ years of working on my blog and buying a semi-profesional camera, I thought the logical next step would be to take a Photography course. So I signed up and have been taking classes for 3 weeks now. I never thought I would enjoy learning about Photography, but I'm actually having lots of fun!

Even though I have been taking courses for three weeks now, I have been feeling dissapointed that my photos look pretty much the same (well, my outfit photos are taken with my regular digital camera lately, so those don't count). I started doubting if the classes I am taking are really any good, because I don't seem to apply what I learn when I'm taking pictures.

And you know what I realized? I just need to practice! It sounds so simple really, but it was a huge realization for me. Even though I pay lots of attention in class and take good notes, I will never take better pictures if I don't put time aside to practice what I've learned. I need to make an effort if I want to see results. So, from now on I'm going to make sure I practice, practice, practice!
