Panama Canal Expansion

This past Sunday I had the wonderful opportunity of gathering with the Panama Porsche club to see the Progress of the Panama Canal Expansion! As I've mentioned before on my blog, my boyfriend is a huge Porsche fan; so we go to Porsche events quite regularly.

It is always fun to get together with nice people and see how passionate they are about Porsches. There were a whole lot of Porsches this time around. We were about 30 Porsches driving all together on a beautiful sunny day.

For those of you who don't know, the Panama Canal is ongoing an expansion right now to add a third set of locks. This will double the capacity of the Panama Canal by allowing larger ships to go through. Its estimated to be ready by 2014.

Although the new set of locks for the Panama Canal are not finished yet, we were lucky enough to be granted a sneak peek of their progress!

 

Its pretty cool to see history in the making. This is such a big step for Panama and I'm just so proud of all the good work we are accomplishing.

Happy Birthday Mom!

This past weekend, we celebrated my Mom's birthday! I thought it would be nice to share just a couple of photos of the lovely evening.

It's always lovely to get the whole family together to catch up and tell each other funny stories. I can honestly say that I love each member of my family so much, they are such wonderful people.

My mom had a wonderful night eating yummy food, singing happy birthday, and watching my mom open her birthday presents.

It was also nice to be our silly selves and take funny pictures! We wouldn't be the McGrath family if we weren't cracking jokes and being silly now would we?

Happy Birthday Mamita!! We all love and cherish you so so much!

 

Bogota Day 4: AG Purse Factory!

The last day of my trip to Bogota, I was lucky enough to experience AG's purse factory! My boyfriend's aunt Angela Gutierrez is a very talented purse maker in Colombia! (How cool is that right?!)

Apart from making lovely purses, she also makes belts, wallets, keychains, you name it! She has hundreds and hundreds of purse models to choose from. She is especially well known for making custom made leather purses.

She gave me a thorough tour of her entire factory, from the beautiful fabrics she uses down to the actual fabrication of the purses.

It was fascinating to hear her story on how she became an independent entrepreneur doing what she loves. It's really inspiring to hear how she followed her dreams and persevered.

Bogota Day 3: Recreational gun shooting

I didn't take too many pictures the third day of my trip to Bogota, but I did manage to snap a couple of photos of some recreational gun shooting! I didn't think I was going to like it, but it was actually kind of fun. I also thought I was going to be terrible at it, but I was actually one of the best of the group! Yai!
